A community leader with more than two decades of professional experience, Miami resident Kristopher Smith currently serves as director of leadership development for the Funders’ Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities. The Funders’ Network is a Greater Miami-based membership organization devoted to helping grant makers develop strategies for the creation of sustainable, prosperous communities throughout North America. In his role with the organization, Kristopher Smith works with funders and grantees on projects aimed at restoring prosperity in older industrial cities.
Prior to joining the Funders’ Network, Mr. Smith maintained responsibilities as a senior program officer for the South Florida Local Initiatives Support Corporation and as an administrator for the City Of Miami Overtown Neighborhood Enhancement Team.
In preparation for his career, the civically minded professional earned a master of arts in public administration from Nova Southern University and a bachelor of arts in political science from Bethune-Cookman University. He also completed the Neighborworks Achieving Excellence in Community Development Program for Senior Executives at Harvard University.
