Kristy Redhead is actually Kristy Strough, a freelance graphic designer from Buffalo, New York. (Redhead is a little bit easier to pronouns than Strough, don’t you think?) Ever since high school people have known me as Kristy Redhead. Apparently having red hair is rare so people tend to remember the hair color. I guess it’s one of my best traits. Anywho… I’ve been designing since I was in high school. Always been very energetic, self-motivated and driven in everything that I do. I love coming up with creative solutions to people’s design problems.

After getting a bachelor's degree in visual communication for Cazenovia College in Central New York, I quickly got a job as a graphic designer at a local screen printer company. Working there made me fall in love even more with design. I felt like a rock star every time I saw someone wearing my designs on their shirt. Especially when I would go to a Syracuse University Basketball or walking around the SUNY Cortland campus and see college students wearing my designs.

Even though a lot of my skills and experience have been shaped while working with some of the top screen printing companies in Central New York, I also have my fair share in photography, branding and page layouts experience and working with the local colleges. AND... I excel in making nontraditional, slightly quirky and personalized invitations and announcements.

I just recently just took a risk moved to Buffalo, New York where now I'm currently working for the University at Buffalo, Career Services as a Marketing and Events Assistant and I honestly couldn't be happier. I get to develop media campaigns and contest to help promote Career Services events by implementing advertising, marketing, and communications campaigns for social media. The challenge is to get student to want to follow Career Service on social media or to even to just get them to use the resources that Career Services offers. Good thing I love challenges! And with the world ever changing, it looks like I got my work cut out for me and I will love every single minute of it.
