Kristy Long

I am a digital and online communications professional. I am particularly passionate about improving employee experience in the digital workplace.

After following a path of traditional studies in journalism and public relations, my work has taken me to developing intranets, websites and focussing on how enterprise 2.0 and online technology can assist internal communication and deliver business benefits through innovation, engagement and knowledge sharing.

I have lead several major intranet redevelopments, been responsible for the adoption of enterprise social networking and have lead the development and launch of enterprise mobile apps.

I love the challenge of moving organisations forward in time with their people and the ‘outside world’ while approaching progress in a way that suits and supports their business.

I have recently done an Interaction Design course through the Uni of California, San Diego to to support my understanding of design thinking and am armed to influence IT design so that it actually benefits the user.

One of my favourite things about working in this field is getting to know and understand how people work. I really enjoy getting out into the field, the front line and talking to different user groups about their experiences, their frustrations, their motivations and their goals.
