Kristy Ellis
Cartagena, Bolivar, Colombia
Australian born and bred, but internationally informed, Kristy's heart was captivated by Cartagena in 2012 and she decided to establish a company dedicated to helping English-speaking visitors discover just how magical this Caribbean gem truly is.
To this end, Cartagena Connections was created: a website and tour company that aims to equip tourists with all the local inside knowledge it would otherwise take years (and lots of questionable decision-making) to accumulate.
Through Cartagena Connections, Kristy has employed her famous energy and enthusiasm to successfully become one of the key players in Cartagena tourism in a relatively short time. She has been featured in Conde Nast Traveller, New York Magazine and appeared on a streetfood series from the Travel Channel. If there is a better informed, better connected English-speaking contact in Cartagena, we'd be surprised.
Kristy personally provides a number of popular group tours (streetfood, Bazurto Market, Historical) and can also design private tours and experiences to cover the full ambit of interests and budgets.
Kristy is also the person you contact to arrange your accommodation, visits to the islands and boat hire, itinerary creation, shopping advice, restaurant and bar recommendations and reservations, bachelor/bachelorette parties, event planning and anything where a trustworthy, English-speaking connection in Cartagena would be valuable.
Kristy holds Bachelors Arts/Laws from University of Queensland and Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Griffith University.
She loves her bicycle Nemo, beach sunsets, dancing like everyone is watching, eating alfresco, and making new friends. She apologises unreservedly to her poor mother that she lives so very far away.
