I am an assistant professor at Drexel University and associate research scholar at Columbia University. I am a sociologist who uses gender and education as critical lenses to study social change in Southeast Asia, particularly in Vietnam. I am currently completing a book manuscript titled: Whatever happened to comrade? Gender mainstreaming, training and development in Vietnam. I teach courses on globalization and education, gender and politics, qualitative research methods, and gender and development in Southeast Asia. I also direct a Global Education Colloquium that brings together scholars, activists and policy-makers interested in education and social justice.
