Sitting still have never been my thing. Neither is simply letting something go. If it caught my attention, I have to know everything about it: how it works, its purpose. Everything.
I've lived all across the Eastern U.S. growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio and West Palm Beach, Florida, and I've lived in Chicago, New York City and Washington, D.C. But always one for adventure, I also lived in London, the city I will always consider my hometown.
My passion is writing and journalism, and I was grateful enough to find an editor once who saw what would become my obsession: opinion writing and reader engagement. I'm very curious about what others think, and I use social media more to observe public opinion and inspire debate than to tell you what I had for breakfast. So I don't post as frequently but I'm aways plugged into it, always looking for what others are thinking and looking for new ways to highlight those opinions to encourage further debate.
Although I'm largely just a writing nerd (I also dabble in fiction when I have a rainy afternoon), I've been a figure skater for over 30 years, and have competed nationally and internationally. When I was a kid, I loved to spin and jump but as I got older, I discovered that the acrobatic tricks were crowd pleasers but the real beauty of the sport lie in the edge work. It is called "figure skating," after all. So I focused on ice dancing and synchronized team skating.
And the most impotant thing to know about it me is: I'm hilarious!
