My name is Kristyn Wade and I am currently the Catering Events Manager with Aramark at the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. In three short years, I have been able to accomplish my goals of graduating with a major in Hospitality and Tourism Management and obtain an emphasis in Event/Planning and Lodging. I have completed several internships and continue to volunteer in my industry as well as hold several jobs in the hospitality industry. I have volunteered for several events in the Grand Rapids area such as Family Philanthropy, West Michigan Wedding Associations, ArtPrize and so much more. I was recently selected as 1 out of 81 students in the United States to attend the Marriott International Student Leadership Conference Summit 2013 in San Antonio, Texas to obtain more knowledge not only on Marriott itself, but how to be an exquisite leader. It has been my experience that being involved in my industry and being hands on is the best way to obtain the necessary knowledge needed for my degree in hospitality and I have taken every opportunity to better myself in the field.
