I created this site for sheer vanity, thinking that you may want to know random stuff about me. And who wouldn't? My mom says I am pretty great.

I grew up in Florida's Tampa Bay Area and never saw snow on the ground until I was 30 years old! Even then, it wasn't in Florida. I studied music and anthropology, which led me to my first trip overseas. London? Paris? Nope. Indonesia.

I was drawn to Indonesia so much that after finishing my studies at FSU, I moved to Australia to study Indonesia. Then I moved to Malaysia and got to see Southeast Asia up close.

This fascination with the region led to some memorable times, like being deported from Sumatra, catching dengue fever in Kuala Lumpur, hitchhiking across the Thai-Laos border, and wandering the jungles of Borneo without any food or water.

I eventually decided to put some of my experiences into writing. In 2013 Fixi Novo published my first novel, Son Complex, which has none of these experiences included in it. Still, it's a pretty interesting take on life in Malaysia.

Oh! And wouldn't you know it? You can buy your very own copy here or here!
