I live in the Cascade mountain range of Vancouver, Washington with my husband of forty-one years. We have four children, nine grandchildren, and as a devoted animal lover, the note above my doorbell reads: Press here to release the hounds!
I am an avid and successful community marauder changing laws regarding issues protecting children, civil rights, and the environment in Washington and my native state of California. I recently finished an eight year membership on a Department of Defense board, residing as Army/community co-chair with my primary focus of children's safety and environmental sustainability. I joined forces with a tireless handful of community marauders, Scientists, and Tribal leaders, becoming original authors and signers of a federal mandate to protect the vast Troutdale Aquifer supplying underground water to most of SW Washington and into Portland, Oregon.
I began writing as a child, then graduated to college lawns, my pulled-out bread board while burping babies at 2am, legislative waiting rooms, and media green rooms. "Sharing stories and poetry is uncontrollable. Writing is like breathing so I guess that labels my early typewriter my iron lung. Thank God for voice record on my iPhone and a laptop thinner than my pasta!"
