Tom Krogstad

Hi friends my name is Tom Krogstad. I am not a script guru, a script doctor or anyone who will try to tell you screenwriters he can magically turn your script around.

I proofread scripts. I make sure your hard work doesn't get rejected by producers, readers and production personnel because you forgot or misused the basic tenets of writing. When I first returned to writing for the screen after 23 years as a newspaper and tech editor, I took a lot of heat from my brother and sister writer wannabes in screenwriting groups for marking up their scripts for incorrect use of punctuation, misuse of homonyms, misspelled words and any other missteps that I found.

What do these matter in writing for the screen? they asked. No one will be reading our scripts, just hearing the words. They were wrong. A screenwriter's first job is to convince production executives of the worthiness of a script. And production types welcome the opportunity to toss scripts in the reject pile over multiple simple grammatical, style and spelling errors.

Over time, my fellow writers began asking me to read scripts specifically to clear up any lapses. And they even started slipping me pay for doing this. My little business here is just a continuation of this process.

Don't think any of those problems are there in your script? Trust me, they are. Most of my friends in screenwriting groups didn't think they were there until I showed them differently. I am so sure of this that if I find no errors in your script, I will refund your money!
