Kelly Williams
Welcome! I’m a fourth-year student at the University of Georgia, studying Public Relations and Spanish as well as pursuing a certificate in Sports Media. I have enjoyed every aspect of my past three years in Athens, as I’ve seen the Dawgs play between the hedges every season, I have experienced college life abroad in Spain and I have made some incredible friendships along the way.
I am currently employed by the UGA Sports Communications department as a student assistant. My role includes working in both the office as well as in the press box at assigned sporting events. I spend my week, when not in class, performing various tasks for UGA’s sports teams ranging from website updating and graphic design to putting together press releases and conducting post-game interviews at events. Altogether, my experience with the UGA Sports Communications has further ignited my interest in sports.
While sports has always been a major area of interest for me, I enjoy working and serving others on a nonprofit platform as well. In the summer of 2015, I enjoyed a internship with a nonprofit organization called Show Hope that works to care for orphans by providing them life-saving medical care as well as giving families adoption grants. My intern role included work in the online communications department where I gained valuable knowledge and skills about website design, search engine optimization, keyword research and much more.
When I’m not working or in class, I love going on adventures and trying new things. Some of my favorite things to do include hiking, playing pick-up soccer or volleyball with friends and drinking lots of coffee.I hope you enjoy my site! And as always, go Dawgs!
