Krysia Lafferty

An experienced track and field athlete and marathon runner, Krysia Lafferty has earned considerable recognition for her athletic prowess. While working toward her International Baccalaureate in the Philippines at the Brent International School of Manila, Lafferty picked up several MVP awards and gold medals in track and field events, including the Asia Pacific Cross Country Girls MVP award in 2008. Prior to attending the Brent International School, Krysia Lafferty studied at the prestigious Ecole Internationale de Genève-La Grande Boissière, where she also displayed talent in cheerleading and won awards from the National Cheerleaders Association.

During her university studies at DePaul University in Chicago, Krysia Lafferty excelled both in the classroom and on the track. A member of the school’s Computer Science Society and the Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars, Lafferty was honored as a Big East Academic All-American from 2009 to 2011. A full-time student athlete during her first two years, Krysia Lafferty ran 4 km and 5 km races for a Division I National Collegiate Athletic Association program.

Committed to giving back to her community, Krysia Lafferty enjoys volunteering her time with the Cabrini Green Tutoring Program, which provides one-on-one tutoring for elementary school children whose families are at an economic disadvantage, and the Seton Sandwich Kitchen, a charity that provides sandwiches and hot coffee to those in need of a meal. Lafferty also combines her generous spirit with her love of running and has served as a volunteer for the Chicago Marathon and the Shamrock Shuffle. In her free time, Lafferty is an avid marathon runner and has competed in numerous runs all over the world, including the Antarctica Marathon, which was the first major sporting event to ever occur on the continent.
