Hello All! My name is Krystal Woodley and it is a pleasure to stand before you as your math guru. Please allow me to help you help yourself.

There are not many things I ask of you. First, I would like to have complete honesty and a positive attitude about the material throughout our time together. This will have a huge impact on how well I may assist you. Having a great attitude makes it that much easier to work with each other. Remember, I am here to help you not give you all the answers. I need you to meet me halfway if not more.

Secondly, I need consistency and respect. Please come prepared and study often. Learning new things take time, repetition and practice. Lastly, I need you to give yourself a break. We all know you did not graduate high school for various reasons. Today, we are here to move past that. I look forward to having a productive course together.

My Story(How I became a math tutor, teacher and “Math Guru”)

When I was in elementary school, I HATED math with a passion. When the subject came up, I huffed and puffed everyone’s house down. When the time arose to complete the math classwork, I took it as my queue to go to the bathroom, see how the principal was doing, take a walk in the hallway, disturb my fellow classmates by running my mouth and so on. To make it that much worse, I would purposely leave my pencils home even though my family brought them for me.

One day, my teacher sat me down from recess and told me I had a little fear about Math. Then she ensured me that she was going to help me through it. She kindly paired me with another student and realized that I indeed knew the material but I had many different ways of solving the same problem as many of us do. I then was able to use my skills in other ways with students who didn’t understand one way of solving a problem all the time. Here is when I knew I could help other students just like me. This changed my whole outlook on math. Just because someone invested extra time with me, I am now able to help so many people understand a subject I once thought was too difficult. Let me help you, too.
