Srinivas Kowtal
Bangalore
I am what else, but yet-another-software-professional, but I enjoy what I do for a living. My hometown is Bangalore and I absolutely adore the city.
Though I write code for a living, it does not completely define me. I like to think about science, politics, and public policy. I am deeply concerned about the impact we are having on our ecosystem and live a very simple life and reduce my footprint as much as possible. I deeply introspect about inequality and though I am an old fashioned soul with regards to personal values, I am a very progressive thinking person who enjoys intellectual conversations. My ancestral origins are in North Karnataka and it is perhaps one reason why I really like Raghu Dixit's music. I tend to have eclectic tastes when it comes to reading and entertainment. I read, mostly non-fiction and though I have a TV at home, I mostly switch it on to watch interesting documentaries, news, and of course cricket. Who doesn't like cricket right.
I have traveled in the Americas and Asia, mostly for work and of course, I have traveled a fair bit across India. I think there is a lot to see in India - I would like to go out to the wilderness in the Himalayas. I like to work out and have been focusing on my fitness - I mostly ride my bicycle and I like to run. I also like the occasional hikes and embarrassingly, I do not know how to swim - something I am trying to work on.
