Krystal Sundstrom

Krystal Sundstrom is an Online Learning Specialist at the Center for Applied Second Language Studies (CASLS). After teaching in a bilingual program in California, she received her master's degree in Educational Leadership with an emphasis on Learning Assessment and Systems Performance from the University of Oregon. She joined CASLS in 2007 as a test developer, managing the item development process for online language proficiency tests in multiple languages. Since then, she has spearheaded the development of LinguaFolio Online, an e-portfolio for language learners distributed nationally. Sundstrom is a regular presenter on CASLS' formative and summative assessment tools at regional and national conferences.
In addition to assessment development, Sundstrom has conducted content analyses and alignment studies between content standards and assessment materials for Behavioral Research and Teaching at the University of Oregon. She also developed systems-level data collection and reporting plans for the Oregon Department of Education, based on data specifications and stakeholder needs. She is currently a doctoral student in the University of Oregon's Critical and Sociocultural (CSSE) Studies Program.
