Keaton Treece

Keaton is a life long, award winning theatre and digital writer, producer, director, costumer and performer. He was nominated for a national Tony Award in 2015, and was recently named one of the top theatre directors in St. Louis, MO, by Arts for Life. Primarily a director, he has also been acting since his youth, and directing and producing stage and video productions since he was 18. He also has a collection of over 400 costumes (new & vintage) and a variety of vintage hand props. Over the past twenty five years in St. Louis he has worked with many of the community theatres all over town, often doing several shows a year. He has also worked with several of the top professional theatre companies in various capacities as well. Recently he had eight shows book in ten months two of which he directed. For the past few decades he has also been active in the art and skill of improvisational comedy. He began studying the art form when it was a brand new genre in the 1980's. Since then it has become a mainstay in comedy and he has been a regular performer. First with the original company at ComedySportz which at its peak had 26 franchises around the country. When he moved to St. Louis he was a regular at St. Louis's Union Station. Later he joined Bill Chott's, The Improv Trick and also became a regular performer in countless performances all over the river city. This was during the time the troupe was awarded the Master Mind Award by the Riverfront Times. Keaton is a constant volunteer and served on the board of directors for the International Cappies for four years, as the chairmand for the St. Louis chapter for six years, and treasurer for three. Cappies recognizes excellence in high school theatre and journalism throughout metropolitan St. Louis, and involves hundreds of students made up of approximately 24 high school critic teams. He has since retired his post to focus on essentially the equivalent of the Cappies for adult and children's independent theatre companies by becoming a board member and adjudicator for Arts for Life, which is made up of nearly all of the community musical theatre groups in the St. Louis area and the theatre companies in Western Illinois, from Alton to Columbia.
