“I will do great, big things with my art. I will help people around the world through and with my art. I will be successful! Amaranthia "AmaSepiaChan"

Amaranthia Sepia Gittens-Jones known as “AmaSepiaChan,” is a 14 year old artist. She has recentlly studied with acclaimed artist Ian Torney and teacher Sylvia Brofos of Kimball Art School, Concord, NH. Amaranthia is now on full scholarship at Kimball Jenkins. On Friday April 22, 2011 she was recognized as the best artist in her school. She was featured in the Concord Monitor's education column titled Profiles in Positive on Saturday April 30, 2011. So far Amaranthia has donated 100% proceeds from her art by selling "Autumn Sunset" on eBay to help victims of the Tsunami and earthquake in Japan. She also donated 100% of proceeds from her art to help in The Rachel Sweet campaign in Concord, NH held by NHTI-Concord's Community College Director of Student Life. Amaranthia donated "The Cockatoo" was part of a silent auction to raise money to help to get Rachel support for double lung transplant. Just before summer vacation she donated "Horse Running" to Our Promise to Nicholas Foundation, NH to a fundraiser to help raise money for Nicholas who has Battens Disease. In the summer of 2011 she donated her water color "Home" to Crossing Cultures” a program that helps Students in America to travel to Senegal and immerse them in the Senegalese culture. The painting was given as a thank you gift to all those who helped raise money for 'Bouley', a Senegalese young man who needed help to return to school to help his family. She would like to attend college for Graphic Arts focusing on comic books and inking. She wants to do "big things with her art" as well as to give back to those in need. Recently she designed an iPad presentation titled, “Do You know Who I Am?” to combat bullying. The presentation can be viewed on her website below. She is also creating two Manga series and is busy developing characters for them daily. Amaranthia's work is influenced by earlier years spent in Tokyo, Japan. One day she hopes to create a foundation so young artist like herself can have their work shown. She wants people to focus on her artistic abilities and not her age.
