Kumar Ogale
The inventor and developer of a technique to surface-fluorinate nonwoven materials, which is a technology used in air filters and respirators, Kumar Ogale founded TransWeb LLC in New Jersey to manufacture products utilizing this proprietary technology. Overseeing the expansion of the company to an enterprise that brought in an annual revenue exceeding $10 million, Kumar Ogale has also developed numerous other products meant to ensure comfort and safety in home and office environments. In addition, he secured patents protecting TransWeb's key processes of manufacturing.
Prior to founding the 16-year-old company, where he currently acts as President, the entrepreneur spent four years in Belgium. There, he helped create Airflo N.V., and developed a manufacturing line that made needle-punched, nonwoven material for air filters. The venture was highly successful, and was sold in 2010. In other employment, Kumar Ogale has served as a Product Development Engineer at Pennwalt Ltd. in Pennsylvania and as a Junior and Senior Development Engineer at Himont Inc.'s Catalloy Venture Group. Mr. Ogale has also worked as a graduate-level teaching assistant at SUNY Buffalo, where he completed a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering.
Realizing the importance of sharing his success, Mr. Ogale supports several charitable organizations in India and the U.S., such as the Indian Institute of Technology, the Door Step School, Amnesty International, and Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders). Kumar Ogale also assists National Public Radio and United Way Worldwide.
Married with three children, Mr. Ogale enjoys spending much of his free time with his family. He also takes pleasure in traveling, reading, listening to music, and gardening.
