Riverside

At first glance, I am visibly an Emergency Medical Technician and a graduate student who is working her way to become a Nurse Practitioner. At second glance, I am a woman with a thirst for knowledge, a caring capacity for others, and a passion for adventure.

Since undergraduate school, I have wished to pursue the medical field to provide a sustainable, healthy life for others. I believe having good health is key to lead a happy life. By becoming a healthcare provider, I would not only give my patients my upmost respect, but also provide them care that can prolong a life that is capable of great opportunities.

I have volunteered since my early years. In high school I volunteered with Red Cross Organization by promoting blood drives, community disaster training, HIV/AIDS training, and leadership development camps. At University California, Riverside where I have obtained a B.S degree in Neuroscience, I have interned as a Clinical Care Extender at the local Riverside Community Hospital for 3 years. I rotated through several departments and had valuable hands-on patient care experience from it. I also held leadership positions as the VP Community Outreach and President of the community service organization, Team HBV. Alongside with my colleagues, we promoted education, awareness, and preventative clinics for the Hepatitis B Virus. One particular philanthropic event that resonates in my memory, was the Medlife trip to Lima, Peru to provide mobile clinics to the third-world communities. The experience has further fueled my yearning to provide care for those in need. (more to come)
