Kurt Brotcke is the current Director of Strategic Planning for the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA). Kurt’s responsibilities include creating transit, bike, and roadway plans to address current and future Orange County transportation issues; implementing transportation funding programs through “calls for projects” for projects; and serving as a liaison to the California Transportation Commission. Kurt also manages monthly technical advisory and ad-hoc committees comprised of public works directors and transportation planning professionals. Kurt is known for his excellent working relationships with cities and regional agencies; his planning experience in freeway, streets, bikeways, and transit modes; and his ability to distill complex transportation information into understandable formats for communication to the public and policymakers. Kurt also has detailed knowledge of transportation modeling and geographic information systems, and his planning and funding efforts emphasize integrating technical work and local input into effective transportation solutions.
