Here's the story of a man from Michigan.

A lifetime ago I left to see the wider world. Today I make my residence near Austin, TX. I work in this area as well. In my spare time, I run a real-estate leasing enterprise with over $1MM in assets.

A word, or 200, about me and my lack of a college degree:

My life's curriculum has included all the core classes which are generally considered to be required for a degree.

My career has led me into sales, medicine and computers where I have been immersed in the most cutting-edge technologies of pharmaceuticals and computers. This same career path has demonstrated the need for physical education and exertion as well. My learning has included leadership development in the classroom and on the battlefield.

I have spent a year in a foreign land (Korea) and learned other languages (German and Spanish.) I have written numerous essays and opinion pieces, some of which have led to changes in the course of company policies; some of which are just funny. I nurture a deep appreciation of aesthetics, music and philosophy. I find learning essential to growing, and fun to boot. I don’t find that education requires a sheepskin to be valuable.

All of this was achieved on what might be called a scholarship model. Every minute of this education was paying me back, both in dollars and in personal growth. When you consider the cost of a normal college education, you should recognize that I also have serious skill with a budget.
