Kurt Overberg

Boston, MA

For more than twenty years Kurt Overberg has worked to translate and transform the concepts of entrepreneurs, innovators and technologists into concrete, functioning technology platforms that bridge the critical gap between inspiration and execution.

Kurt has been instrumental in creating the connection between technology and commerce, and has helped pioneer the infrastructure that has evolved to become the foundations of many of the technologies we use every day. He helped to develop one of the first SGML browsers for Electronic Book Technologies (sold to Inso) in the early 90s. He also helped to build the first online shopping cart and credit card payment systems for e-commerce pioneer OpenMarket (IPO) in 1996. In 2002, he co-founded BzzAgent, a leading social media marketing company, where he served as CTO and helped spearhead its acquisition by UK firm Dunnhumby in 2011.

Most recently Kurt founded Xrtic Consulting to leverage his experience as a coder, technologist, innovator and team leader to assist investors in valuing potential merger and acquisition targets through in-depth systems, infrastructure and IP analysis and general IT due diligence. He still codes as much as time allows.
