Kenneth van Abbema

I have a Masters in Education and ESL certificate. I will complete my Ontario Teaching Certificate course for Primary/Junior grades in April 2012.

I have 20 years of teaching experience; 10 years in Canada and 10 in China. Most recently I taught at an international school in China. In the three + years I taught there, I was an ESL specialist as well as a classroom teacher for grades 2, 3 and a 3/4 split class.

Teaching is a conversation. The teacher gives it direction and gives support. Interaction between students is key to grounding their learning.

My passions include drama, science, traveling and experiencing different cultures both at home and abroad.
