Ky Adderley is an education expert, talent matchmaker and networking guru who has spent his life connecting people to their goals and next opportunities. A Teach for America alumnus who was named Outstanding New Teacher of the Year in 2002, Adderley has worked extensively in both classroom and administrative settings in challenging educational environments along the East Coast of the United States, Brazil and South Africa. As a member of Teach For America from 2001-2004, he served as a sixth-grade teacher in Washington, D.C. Public Schools. His tenure as a middle school teacher inspired him to work to improve the education system from an administrative vantage point. In 2004 he was recruited into the KIPP Schools Leadership Program as a Fisher Fellow and tasked with the mission to create his own school. July 2005, he founded a successful charter school KIPP: AMP Academy in Brooklyn, New York and served as Principal until 2011. After seven years of leading KIPP AMP Academy, the Philadelphia native turned his efforts to impacting education systems on a wide scale and is now a full-time education consultant. In 2011, Adderley formed The Adderley Group to provide world-class expertise in education leadership training and school reform. He is an advocate for what he calls “social justice education”, known in progressive education circles as “Know Justice, Know Peace.” His clients are drawn to his experiences in diverse education settings, his deep passion to accelerate change within the education systems, and his ability to connect communities using a substantial global network of innovative educators. His current focus is designing and implementing unique learning models in Brazil. As an education leadership consultant for numerous influential organizations in Brazil, as well as the city and state education departments of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, he guides new and seasoned pedagogical teams to implement best practices throughout schools. He has been a leadership consultant in the opening of the groundbreaking Olympic-development, public schools, where students from throughout Rio de Janeiro enjoy a substantive mix of both academics and Olympic sport practice spanning within a nine-hour school day. He also consults for education organizations in South Africa. His most recent project focuses on building the capacity of EdVillage – an organization working to increase the number of quality schools available to low-income children worldwide. He has
