Kyairah Lawson

I am a senior at DeKalb Early College Academy. Yet attending full time at Georgia Perimeter College, for the second year. I am a member of the National Honor Society also in the National Society of High School Scholars Foundation . I also participate in these clubs; Literary Magazine for 3 years and co-editor for 2 years, Newspaper club, Film club, Peach club, and Earth Tomorrow. I would be going to college for a Master's in Accounting, when I finish high school, also would like to be a restaurant owner.

The link below, change.org is petition is important for us, Dekalb Early College Academy Students to gather support for Early College high school students to be given Quality Points for completing College courses. Currently high school students are given Quality Points (QP) for successful completion of Advance Placement (AP) courses. Early College (EC) students have worked hard to complete four years of high school within their first two high school years (9th and 10th grades). Early College students earn the right and privilege to advance to taking college classes full time. They need petition signatures and support so that the DeKalb Board of Education will give the Early College students the same, if not more, Quality Points for the college courses that they complete in college while they are in High School.
