Kyla Rutherford

Hey Everyone,

My name is Kyla and I am a secondary teacher currently living in Thunder Bay. I currently hold Intermediate and Senior qualifications majoring in Physical Education and Health however have taught a wide range of subjects in the secondary panel. My passion for teaching physical education stems from my involvement with sport and fitness. Throughout my University years I had the opportunity to play three different varsity sports where I excelled to become an All-Canadian all-star. My involvement and love for sports gave me the opportunity to coach various sports teams and run summer training camps where my passion for working with youth excelled. It was a no brainer for me that I wanted to become a teacher.

As an educator I love working with the youth of today in and outside of the classroom challenging them and help guide them into reaching and achieving their goals.

On a personal level my interests range from traveling to fitness. I have had the opportunity to play sports overseas, lived in Australia and have traveled to over 30 countries. I love learning the culture and exploring new places. My boyfriend and I also love to do crossfit workouts together which has allowed us to compete together in local competitions. I also love to cook and have quite the green thumb when it comes to gardening.
