KYLE COON

Orlando, FL

Kyle is an inspirational speaker and author with a love of the outdoors. He believes everyone can take control of their own destiny and live a life without limits.

When Kyle was six, the world as he knew it was turned upside down. After a lifelong battle with bilateral sporadic retinoblastoma, a rare but aggressive form of cancer, doctors had to remove Kyle’s eyes to save his life. Kyle woke up in a world that was completely black. While this would be enough to make some people give up, it propelled him forward.

Since then, he has turned adversity into inspiration. Kyle summited Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain on the African continent, in 2007, proving that there is no obstacle too large to stand in the path of determination. He is also an impressive athlete with passions that involve college wrestling, spin instruction and his most avid achievement, climbing and hiking. These accomplishments further proved to the world that blindness is not a limiting factor.

Kyle wants to inspire people of all abilities to take control of their own destinies and live a life without limits. He delivers his inspirational message at speaking engagements, through his memoir “Discovering Freedom,” and through Sight Unseen, the camp he co-founded to help children dream, explore and grow.
