Kyle Egan

My name is Kyle Richard Egan. I am a hardworking sushi chef, student at Midwestern State University, and entrepreneur. Currently my major is Mass Communications, and this is currently my junior year. My goals are to one day own my own a chain of sushi restaurants. Some of my other hobbies and skills are web design, weight trainer, football, sushi design, and pianist. I grew up as an only child and my family and I moved around quite often. We finally settled down in Wichita Falls where my dad retired from the Air Force. From there I graduated from high at Rider High School with a 3.75 GPA. I went on to study at Texas Tech for mass communications. Things didn't work out so I decided to take a short detour to Dallas where I started working as a waiter for a restaurant called Blue Fish. Since my mother owns a sushi bar called Sakura Sushi Bar I had previous experience in sushi. The owner of Blue Fish decided to let me do preparation work in the kitchen where I learned appetizer cuisines. From there I moved back to Wichita Falls to continue school. After a couple years I took another break and went to do full time ministry work after I was saved. I moved to Corpus Christi after meeting several brothers and sisters that were from there. By divine appointment I had met another man through the ministry program who owned a sushi restaurant of his own. There I learned Thai cuisine and continue to hone my sushi skills. I received a blessing while in Corpus Christi as well; I met my future finance who moved back here with me and also I picked playing piano by ear which up until now I could only read music. It was an incredible experience and it taught me so much about marketing, advertising, and running and owning a larger restaurant business. I came back with hopes and dreams of owning my own restaurant and finishing school. I recently found out that I am on track to graduate in December 2013. One of the best blessings of 2012 is that because of the recent success upon my return to the restaurant I have been given part ownership of the restaurant. The Lord works in mysterious ways but I am always ready for what he has to offer.
