Yarntrepreneur Kylie Gusset is the mastermind/one-woman force of nature/awesome person behind TON OF WOOL, the crowdsourced funding project that showed knitters are a force to be reckoned with.

Using crowdsourced funding site http://pozible.com, Kylie raised the highest individual amount (almost $40,000) in 2011 on the site, creating the craft category and blowing minds in the process. TON OF WOOL is a project which sees chemical free, sustainably raised rare Australian breed Cormo processed in this country, from sheep to skein, for the first time.

The project was born out of Kylie's desire to support the local Australian wool processing industry, which in turn supports Australian small farmers and puts locally and sustainably grown wools into the hands of Australian knitters as fine yarns (many of them hand-dyed by Kylie).

Kylie recently completed studies with the School Of Social Entrepreneurs to bolster her TON OF WOOL project. A resident of glorious, cafe-filled North Melbs, you can usually find Kylie knitting on the back step of the 57 tram.
