2013 Biography (Archive)
If I have to give myself a title, I'd say a Creative Technologist, which can mean a number of things. Digital Producer works too. Who knows, these things are always changing. In any case, I am the real deal. Laying low, observing the over saturated marketplace.
During the 90s, I worked in media and advertising in commercial photography in fashion retail, consumer products for print, catalog, tv commercial and corporate advertising a decade prior to falling into Information Technology in 2005 for over 15 in San Francisco. I
I was one of the original internet start up launch team members during Dot.com in eCommerce and Retail/Corporate Advertising where I later launched REDCLAY PROJECT in 2002.
I combined my creative marketing background with Information Technology asset management in the area of software licensing (SaaS), and technology contracts and began deploying to Digital Asset Management platforms for the use of content management in Digital Marketing...and managed a variety of technical web/digital projects from PR to brand strategy and producing content.
Having deep resources in electronic media, consumer brands and entertainment, it later made sense to explore licensing Enterprise software to manage and monetize art assets/content for photography, music and video. A lot has changed in this space.
Since 2005, I've consulted leading multi national brands in digital media for brand like eBay and Gap, private foundations, high profile personalities, musicians, designers, artists, filmmakers, etc., in a range of capacities.
I'm a native of Silicon Valley and grew up around technology, as my father is an Engineer. He taught me a lot about the business of technology in Silicon Valley. He's no joke. His background is in nuclear, satellites, lasers, robotics, etc. He's that PC guy who was sitting in meetings with Mr. Packard, founder of HP during the 80's.
For now, I live in New York where I started writing a book about my digital transformations, social change. I also have a digital media and creative consultancy practice for private clients as Kym Coffey Consulting.
