Kymm Ballard Consulting: I am an Educational Consultant and Assistant Professor at Campbell University. My role is to provide "Healthy Solutions 4 Healthy Kids". I have a unique set of skills and would love to work with you! Areas of expertise include: Physical Education Advocate; Partnership Strategy; Grant finder; ESSA; Sport Philanthropy; Policy; and Safe &Healthy Schools; WSCC Model.

I strive daily to be the best that I can be. My career path has varied from education to corporate and non-profit. I have worked on the local, state and national levels advocating, partnering, and developing strategies to improve physical activity and nutrition in and out of schools. During these experiences, I have also taught or have been in school taking classes myself. I believe in learning and I believe knowledge is power.

I began my career in middle school yet spent most of my life teaching at the high school level. Here, I created a systems change in PE, offering choices to motivate students. I served as coach, mentor teacher, assistant principal, and athletic director during my 10 years in high school. I was named NC’s physical education teacher of the year and health education teacher of the year, coach of the year during this time. Next I spent 11.5 years at the NC Department of Public Instruction as the Health, Physical Education, and Athletics Consultant serving the health and physical education teachers across the state. During my time at NCDPI, I began and completed my doctoral program. I have been a part of Coordinated School Health Programs, worked with DASH on the PECAT and other initiatives as needed, served as a national president for the Society of State of State Leaders for Health and Physical Education (hiring and as a leader managing CDC grant and staff). My peers and colleagues have recognized me as an expert in our field and I carry that honor with pride.

There were many great experiences and successes working at this level, yet I wanted to try and impact physical education from a national perspective.

I began working in the corporate world just over 8.5 years ago, but have remained a lifelong learner. Most recently, I completed my certification from George Washington University in Sport Philanthropy School of Business Marketing. I thrive on learning and translating that knowledge into experiences and programs to improve policy and programs on health issues. Working in the corporate world has provided me experiences to understand corporate values,
