Student and waitress in Athens, GA

My name is Kyra Collins and I’m currently a student at the University of Georgia!

I would like to consider myself a pretty interesting person, although it sounds quite narcissistic to say out loud (or in this case, write). However, I don’t mean interesting in a way that I am incredible at a certain sport or that I don’t know who my biological father is (one of my friends told me this about herself last week so I feel it’s okay to joke about?? Maybe not. Sorry). I would instead describe myself as interesting in a way that compels my friends to post daily pictures of me with a caption along the lines of “part 99 of Kyra being the most fascinating person I know”. And unfortunately, this is not meant as a compliment the way you would think. Rather, as I have been informed numerous times by my friends and family, the way I act and the things I say “need to be studied”. It’s hard to pinpoint the exact aspect of my personality that is so “fascinating” to others, although I would imagine it has something to do with genuinely not caring what other people think of me (possibly to a fault when I’m in public). To put this into other words, throughout my life, I have always been that one kid who wore the most outlandish halloween costumes. One year, I dressed up as the Jimmy Carter Center. Like the building. Like I wore a cardboard box on wheels. In all of high school, I was in JROTC - yes, the “army thing”. I didn’t even want to necessarily pursue a career in the army, I just did it for fun. On weekends, my friends will find me on a curb somewhere or stranded at a dog park (not suggesting anything here, just painting a picture…). The point is, as I feel I have proved by now, I don’t care if people judge me, and I guess that’s what makes me so "fascinating" to all of my friends. (I’m personally fascinated by the fact that I even have friends, honestly).

So, to answer the question of exploring a single aspect of my life that others might find interesting would be extremely challenging. But if I had to try, I would say it is my personality in general and the part of me that does not care about the funny looks I get in public when there are holes in the armpits of my shirts.
