Kyra Garéy's story is her journey of self discovery. Born in the late 80s to a German father and a Tatar/Bashkir mother, she was encouraged as a child to play the piano, the first steps were taken. By the time she was a teenager she was learning guitar and experimenting with song writing.
The follow on from that was invitations to local jam sessions where she got involved in the blues scene and a logical progression to forming her first band. During this time Kyra was spending some time in Moscow and as a result she and the band ended up playing some of Moscows premier blues venues, such as BlueBird, Roadhouse, B2 and the Bourbon.
Kyra subsequently relocated to Berlin, studied audio engineering and media composition. She began working on her first album while at the same time experimenting with electronic music. In this time she would hook up with Alex Kozmidi and Joe Smith leading to the formation of a new band. They didn't waste any time and quickly got to work recording their first album, the result being Desert Road.

Her style can be described as a grungy Voodoo Rock n'Blues Experience...Road music with a time machine effect

The band has a solid and tight feel, which coupled with dueling guitar riffs, experimental solos, grooves, a rolling drumbeat, a sultry voice and dreamy song writing marks out Kyra Gárey and band definitely one to keep an eye on.
