I’m no expert – I’m a mom – not an educator, attorney or medical practitioner. I'm just the mom of two kids with special needs. My eldest has and incredibly diverse and complex set of disabilities and associated complications. My youngest is on the autism spectrum. For all the websites in my bookmarks and the books on my shelf...and I had struggled to find them, I had yet to find a place that contained all this information I found helpful to me in one place. It’s my hope is my blog, The Special Parent, can be that place for other parents. I am absolutely interested in things other parents would like to hear about, information you’ve seen and think would be valuable and I am also open to guest writers! I’m constantly on the search for information that can give me the ability to make the most of each of my kids different ABILITIES I hope you'll find that the information will continue to be varied, and allow people who don't necessarily share my exact experience to glean information useful in their own journey parenting a child with special needs.
