Jarkko has also established national 'open data overflow' questions and answers service for Finnish Open Data community at http://avoindata.net

Ilkka Lehtinen has called him “rainmaker, professional and determined person that one can trust. Honest, hard working professional” and Kari Laitinen describes him “talented coder and architecture designer with great skills of team work.” He has co-founded local hackerspace in Tampere, Lean Startup Tampere group and MeeGo Network Finland (rip).

Nowadays working in the realm of education and cloud services at Ministry of Education and Culture, Department for Education Policy as Senior Advisor (FI:kehittämispäällikkö) under the wings of director-general Eeva-Riitta Pirhonen.

Jarkko is finishing his PhD about "Peer Production economy - revolution in design, development and manufacturing". Jarkko's years long statistical survey based research about 3D Printing community and Fabbing communities reflects his passion towards open source, open hardware and open data.
