Kevin Zelnio

I am a science communicator, marine biologist, folk musician, and father specializing in all aspects of the oceanic, environmental and zoological worlds. I obtained a masters degree in biology from Pennsylvania State University and have worked in labs at UC-Davis, Penn State, Duke and UNC Wilmington doing organismal, genetics and molecular ecology research for nearly ten years.

I am pursuing my passion for science communications by developing effective messaging strategies for scientists as well as synthesizing ideas and discussing new research for a general audience. My aim is to improve the public’s understanding and appreciation of science, while making research accessible to everyone.
