Who am I? Who is l. alexandrea? What a question… I am an artist and a woman who loves to dream! I spend a lot of my time day-dreaming and reading. When I was a child I used to read a lot and would always re-write the endings or add myself in as a character. I was born in southern California, my father was Irish and my mom was Persian and Jewish. No one has ever been able to guess my nationality. As far back as I can remember I have always been an artist... I can remember as a little kid drawing on the walls, drawing on myself and yes, also drawing on paper. I took every art class my mom could find for me. I even remember spending Saturdays at the local University taking art classes in my pre-teens. I was obsessed with art! After many years studying art, I ended up in culinary school to study pastry arts. You see nowhere in any of the art classes I took or even in art school, did anyone teach me how to make money with art. It seems to be completely missing from the curriculum. I have talked to so many artist who will all tell you the same thing. Somewhere in my thirties I was in the Smoky Mountains at an amazing art gallery and the owner was such a great guy. He took me aside and taught me how to make money as an artist. This kind generous act is something I wish to pass on to every artist I can. This is a very special mission for me and something I am very passionate about.
I am also a motivational speaker... Literally, as soon as I could talk, I was inspiring people to believe in themselves. I was raised metaphysical by both of my parents. We went to the United Church of Religious Science... which now is called Center of Spiritual Living (csl.org). That strong foundation formed so much of the strong person that I am today. I believe in infinite possibilities. I believe it is possible to achieve our dreams. I believe in me and I believe in you!
And third I am an activist for kids... I think in life it is really important to give back, so my way of giving back is in motivating and teaching kids to reach their potential. I teach my program, "Monetize Your Dreams for Success," for FREE to high school kids. I started my project "Ignite-Kids" to not only teach kids how to fulfill their dreams, but to give them the steps to make their dreams come true. This is my way of helping the future generation move forward. I believe that our kids are OUR everything! They are our FUTURE... Let's help make a difference!
