Hi Everyone!
My name is Hillary Swardson and I currently reside in Valparaiso, a quaint little city in Northwest Indiana. I'm the third generation to live in Valparaiso of my family. My grandparents moved here in the 1950's. My mom grew up here, went to college, got married, and settled down in Valparaiso, where her and my father raised my two brothers and myself. I have been extremely blessed with a loving and supportive family. My story is similar to my mother's, but with a few differences. I grew up here, went to college, met the love of my life, Jeff, and we have decided to settle down in Valparaiso where we both grew up to raise our future family. I feel such a connection to this city with all of its rich history and tradition. But I didn't always have that connection. When I graduated high school in 2005 I said I was going to college and never coming back. My boyfriend has a similar story, he went into the Air Force after high school and told his parents he was never moving back. We both currently reside in a house two blocks down the road from where Jeff grew up in Valparaiso, IN. So parents when your children tell you they're leaving and never coming back, usuallly it's only temporary.
The time I did spend out of Valparaiso was a blast because I was in college. I studied Management and Nutrition at Purdue University and was also a member of the All-American Marching Band. No, I did not play an instrument, I was a baton twirler, ya know the girl in front of the marching band with sticks.
I transferred from Purdue University to Utah State University in Logan, Utah because I told myself I needed a change. Don't get me wrong, Utah State and Purdue were very different, but oddly similar. Also, the feeling I had in Logan, UT was very similar to the feeling that I had in Valparaiso, IN. A small college town with a good basketball team and lots of snow in the winter. I was in Utah for less than two years before I had gotten my Bachelor's of Science degree and was onto my next adventure, I just didn't know what that was.
I spent a year trying to figure out what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Then I moved back to the city I said I would never live in when I graduated high school. I know before I had said that I have a connection to Valparaiso, and I do, but for a long time I tried to get away, but fate wouldn't let me.
And that is what has led me to open L.S. Consultants INC.
