Lacey McKinnon

Hey there, my name is Lacey, welcome to my page all about.me :-) I’m a teacher living in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario, Canada. I also have a part time job as a server at a great little Italian restaurant in my hometown.

I have a variety of interests but my main ones would be travelling, photography, socializing with friends & family, cooking (I'm a vegetarian) and education. I am married to a wonderful man named Mathew and we have an adorable dog named Camden. We named her after my favourite part of London, UK.

I majored in Sexuality, Marriage and Family studies at the University of Waterloo, in Waterloo, Ontario. I completed teachers college at University of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. I am currently in my 8th year of teaching, two of which were overseas in the United Kingdom.

I have taught every grade from K-8 (including a grade 7/8 learning strategies class for students with learning exceptionalities,) with the exception of grade 6...which I am okay with. My heart is in the early years, with the majority of my teaching experience being K-3.

This year I was hired PERMANENT!!! YAYYYY!!! And if that wasn't reason enough to celebrate, it was permanent in FDK! I love being the person who helps children fall in love with school and with learning. I believe in learning through inquiry and exploring the environment around us whether that be outdoors or our classroom.
