Myrna Loy, Dip C. (NH. Inst) (aka Lady Loy) is a creative cauldron - a DJ, Founder of an innovative magazine called Blackbright News, Poet, Published Author and visual artist

Myrna is the publisher and Managing Editor of Blackbright News (http://issuu.com/blackbrightnews) which is a quarterly publication which helps redress negative stereotypes and stigmas associated to race and health condition; she is also qualified teacher of Adult Literacy and TESOL teacher, i.e. has the skills to teach English to students whose first language is not English and a qualified Counsellor.

Myrna was born in London, and moved to live in the United States in the late 80s where she worked for the United Nations in their Human Resources Department. She spent one year in Angola on a peace keeping mission in Luanda. Myrna returned to the UK late 2000, and now resides in Luton close to her two adult daughters and grandchildren.

Myrna Loy is the author of Poetry's Promise (2011), which is an intimate insight into the author's personal life; Poetry's Teacher (2010), which shares her practical life experiences and The Other Side of Tourism (2006) which is a travelogue that exposes the author's prejudices and conflicting values as a Briton examining her Jamaican roots. This novelette has been endorsed by Lord Ouseley (House of Lords), Dianne Abbot (House of Commons) and Patricia Lashley (Momentum Arts, Cambridge) who wrote an extensive review on The Other Side of Tourism, which was published on www.jamaicans.com.

Myrna is also a visual artist who paints from her imagination (www.myspace.com/artsowngallery) - her paintings tend to either have a futuristic quality. An unplanned and undisciplined artist, Myrna "allows the tools of her trade to dictate the outcome"
