Jason La Greca

Sydney

A passionate advocate of quality learning and teaching, I have been integral to the design, development, implementation and evaluation of learning resources tools at many institutions nationally and internationally.

With more than 10 years experience in the administration, implementation, development, design and customisation of various online learning platforms, I have received both formal and informal instruction in online and print-based design, CSS, HTML, PHP and other web and server-side technologies. The combination of these skills, with my academic knowledge and teaching experience continues to be put to good use while I lead the design, build-out and management of many highly tailored Moodle instances, while simultaneously providing support and expertise to organisations globally. beenlearning.com certainly keeps me busy

In my undergrad days I studied Japanese language, Asian history, economics and communications. My postgraduate studies include a Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary) with Distinction, a Master of Arts (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages/ Interpretation and Translation) with Distinction, and an Master of Education (Research).

I am now interested in how corpus linguistics can be used to re-conceptualise learning analytics, in designing learning platforms that better resemble best practices and trends in web and digital media, in learning design and user interface interaction, in how interaction design impacts learners, and the role and best practices in instructional text. I am also interested in gamification, and more specifically how the teaching and learning attributes of commercial video games can be used to better inform elearning and learning platform design.
