Laine Weatherford
Student and Writer in Edmond, Oklahoma
Laine Weatherford is an English Writing major at Oklahoma Christian University. She has a double minor in Mass Communications and History. Her primary areas of interest are composition, rhetoric, and public relations.
Laine is the administrative director of Soundings, Oklahoma Christian’s literary journal, where she also serves as the copywriter and master of all things blog. She is the Vice President of her social service club, Phi Omega Nu, which she co-founded, and serves as the treasurer of her university chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honors society. She is an honors student and sings in the University Chorale to ward off the chaos of a busy and fulfilling life.
Laine started work with the Oklahoma Christian University Admissions Office in 2015. She currently works in the student connection office, and has previously served as a summer recruiter.
Laine has been published on several university blogs and as a guest writer for the university newspaper, The Talon. Her aspirations include a Masters in Composition and Rhetoric, a doctorate in a related field, and a career as a university professor who also pursues work as a grant and speechwriter.
