Lance Inouye will assume the position of Director of Orchestral Activities at Lewis and Clark College beginning fall of 2013. Previous positions have included Assistant/Cover Conductor at Sarasota Opera, Music Director of Sarasota Youth Opera, Conducting Assistant with Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Music Director/Conductor of The Opera Intimi Project, Tel Aviv, Israel, and Cover Conductor for Norwalk Symphony Orchestra and Sarasota Orchestra. In the U.S., he has guest conducted Temple University Opera Theatre (Magic Flute), Naples Philharmonic, Honolulu Symphony, and in Russia, the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra “Klassika,” Karelia Philharmonic, Sochi Symphony Orchestra, and the St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic of which he served as associate conductor. Inouye was a conducting fellow in the American Academy of Conducting at Aspen where he served as assistant and cover conductor for Aspen Opera Theater’s production of Carmen. Inouye also studied orchestral conducting at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, at Queens College, and in Russia at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory.
