Hervé Lancelin is a collector specialising in post-war and contemporary art and in art brut.

He has accumulated an art collection of museum quality over the years, consisting of several hundred works by artists from all over the world. He is a member of ADIAF, the French association of contemporary art collectors, which awards the annual Marcel Duchamp Prize in collaboration with the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. He was a member of the selection committee for the Marcel Duchamp Prize in 2011 and has been a trustee of the Amis du Musée d’Art Moderne, d’Art Contemporain et d’Art Brut (Friends of the Museum of Modern, Contemporary and Outsider Art) since 2010. He also lectures on subjects associated with contemporary art and art collecting.

He founded the Pinacotheque museum in Luxembourg. The exhibition space is open to the public and presents art exhibitions free of charge.

Spurred on by its president and founder, the Pinacothèque contributes to the influence of international contemporary art in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
