Serving as both an educator and an IT support professional, I have had the unique opportunity to be on both sides of the technician/customer divide. These dual experiences give the understanding of what the client is experiencing, experience on having a problem that needs a specific technological solution, and the ability to communicate with clients to troubleshoot technical issue or provide a technology solution recommendation for an instructional or business need. In both my roles as an IT professional and as an educator, I’ve been able to effectively manage groups of people, both student workers and fellow educators, to complete projects and achieve desired benchmarks.
