Inspector (Ret.) Lance Valcour O.O.M. is an independent consultant, strategic adviser, marketing technologist, evangelist, coach and internationally recognized keynote speaker and facilitator. His expertise spans a broad range of public safety issues including information management, information & communications technology, interoperability and business development. He has a wide range of clients including TASER International.

Lance retired from the Ottawa Police Service in 2010 after 33 years of service. Between July 2014 & March 2015 he was the Vice President of Public Safety & Emergency Management with the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance. He is also the Past Chair of the International Association of Chiefs of Police Law Enforcement Information Management Section.

From 2007 to April of 2014 he led the Canadian Interoperability Technology Interest Group (CITIG) as its Executive Director. CITIG is governed by the Canadian Associations of Chiefs of Police, Fire and Paramedics. He stepped down from this role in March of 2014 to accept new opportunities and to travel more.

Lance has extensive Communications Interoperability, Incident Command, Leadership, Investigative, Strategic Planning and Technology Program/Project Management and business development experience at the national and international levels.

Lance works closely with governments, NGO's and agencies in Canada and internationally to effectively plan, lead, support and foster major projects and initiatives, primarily in the information sharing and public safety interoperability fields.

On May 26th, 2010 he was invested as an Officer in the Order of Merit of Police Forces Order of Merit by Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada.

On August 18th, 2012, Lance received the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal from the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia as sponsored by the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police.

He is married with three adult children.
