I'm a human-computer interaction reearcher who is looking to help invent the future of how we will interact with computing in our everyday lives. I do this through being a Professor in Information Science at Cornell NYC Tech, where we are bringing the computing research and start-up community together in New York City. Previously I was a Professor of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Washington and a visiting researcher at Microsoft Research Asia in Beijing. I'm also the co-author of the best-selling Web Design Book, The Design of Sites. In addition, I founded a start-up company in the field (NetRaker), which was later aquired by KeyNote Systems.
