Landon Barlow

The recipient of a Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), Landon Barlow currently works as a geological engineer at the Reno, Nevada office of international consultancy Golder Associates, Inc. At Golder Associates, he collects, organizes, and interprets field data from planned drilling sites and provides model-based mining design recommendations to clients. A licensed engineer-in-training with the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, Landon Barlow also holds his Grade I Technician certification with the American Concrete Institute and accreditation to transport and operate a nuclear density gauge.
Prior to pursuing a career in geology, Landon Barlow served in the United States Marine Corps as a communications specialist for four years. Honorably discharged from service in 2003, he achieved the rank of E-4 non-commissioned officer and received a service medal, awarded in September 2001. In 2007, he graduated from Truckee Meadows Community College with an Associate degree in Graphic Communications. Mr. Barlow attended UNR's Mackay School of Earth Sciences and Engineering from 2007 to 2012, during which time he participated in several student clubs and internship/externship opportunities. In 2008, Landon Barlow completed a summer geology internship with Newcrest Resources, Inc., where he logged thousands of feet of geotechnical core samples, supervised recirculation drilling operations, and developed working knowledge of precious metals exploration.
From March 2011 until he completed his Bachelor's degree in the spring of 2012, Landon Barlow also served as a laboratory technician for AMEC, an engineering and project management consultancy. In this role, Mr. Barlow's day-to-day responsibilities included performing materials and geotechnical laboratory tests on asphalt, concrete, and soil samples.
