Lani Fox

Advanced Practice RN, BSN, PHN in Santa Barbara, California

Lani Fox is an Advanced Practice Nurse, nutritional researcher, and organic food enthusiast, with over 22 years of experience in hospitals and clinics in Canada and the United States.

Lani’s interest in health began at age 9 when her grandmother Florence introduced her to hundreds of vitamins, herbs and minerals in her kitchen cupboard. Florence, a sage in health/wellness/herbs, had a large organic garden on the southern coast of Vancouver Island. This is where Lani first experienced taking fresh vegetables and fruits from the garden to the table. This passion for clean eating led to her life journey of pursuing the very best in supplements, food and medicine, for herself and others.

In 1988, Lani furthered her education in healthy living and healing while working at the local organic food store. She went on to pursue certification in aromatherapy, acupressure, massage, hydrotherapy, nutrition, herbalism and many other alternative healing modalities. As she experienced the benefits of these alternative approaches in her own body, she pursued a degree in nursing, going on to work in the medical-surgical trauma units at large hospitals. Her approach became more refined as she worked with plastic surgeons in their private clinics, in program planning as a public health nurse, and management at home-health/hospice organizations. In addition, Lani completed a post-graduate degree in health care law/policy, health care administration, and cultural competence in the nursing profession. She is qualified as an Advanced Practice RN, BSN, and PHN.

Lani deeply understands the benefits of both alternative and conventional medicine, and has taught hundreds of her patients how to live happy and healthy lives. She has created her own oils, tinctures and tonics for over 20 years. She is currently researching and writing a manuscript on cultural competence in nursing practice. She lives in sunny Santa Barbara, California.
