I have always found creative expression through both singing and acting fascinating. Even as a little girl, I have loved escaping reality and taking my audience with me to a journey they have never been to before.
My earliest memory of being recognized as a vocalist was when I was 6 years old after being asked to be part of a choral presentation. Although, I was not professionally trained until the age of eight. Since then I carry what I have remembered and applied from every single one since. Performing has been a part of me for over two decades which made reach my biggest leap yet: becoming a student in the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music majoring in Bachelor of Music in Music Theatre.
Since then I had taken technicalized singing, dancing, and acting classes. I have been tapped and asked to be part of exemplary students' recital as their co-artists. Outside of school, I also use my gift of singing to serve at church.
For half of my life, I would come rushing into my bedroom to re-enact iconic scenes or performances from live theatre and variety shows I am very invested in. Now I get to actually perform in front of real live audiences instead of my mirror and use actual microphones instead of my hairbrush.
In the words of Manoj Bajpayee, "The 10 years of theatre prepared me not only as an actor but also as a human being. It gave me the habit of reading, watching, and preserving". With the path I am in (exaggerated expressions and literal breath-taking notes), I cannot wait to see what else I will stumble upon in the next 10 years.
